Tension rises after village clash<\/p>\n
AMBON, Maluku: Tension prevailed on Friday in Haruku island,
\nMaluku, following a clash a day earlier between Kabauw and
\nRohomoni subdistrict residents.<\/p>\n
The sound of homemade bombs and gunfire was heard on Thursday
\nnight and Friday morning in both neighboring subdistricts, but
\nthere have been no reports of fatalities.<\/p>\n
The incident began on Thursday afternoon after a Kabauw
\nresident was assaulted by a Rohomoni resident while both were
\nattending a religious gathering celebrating the anniversary of
\nthe birth of the Prophet Muhammad in Rohomoni subdistrict.<\/p>\n
The Kabauw residents became angry and fought back, said chief
\nof Ambon and Lease Island Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Leonidas Braksan
\non Friday. Leonidas said that police tightened security in the
