Ten killed in accident<\/p>\n
PEKANBARU, Riau: Ten people were killed and 13 others were
\ninjured after a passenger bus collided with a truck here Sunday,
\nAntara reported yesterday.<\/p>\n
The accident happened in the afternoon when the Sarana Ekspres
\nbus, reportedly traveling at very high speed, slammed into the
\ntruck in Kampar district.<\/p>\n
The bus was en route from Pelabuhan Buton to Pekanbaru, the
\nprovincial capital of Riau province. Police are investigating the
\ncause of the accident.<\/p>\n
Republika daily quoted Milus, 52, a bus passenger who survived
\nthe accident with only minor injuries, saying that the bus had
\nneither been overloaded nor speeding. But the Fuso truck had
\nappeared suddenly, speeding, from the opposite direction.<\/p>\n
Five died at the accident site, the other five died in the
\nhospital. The bus driver, Syahrul, was among those who died on
\nthe site.<\/p>\n
