        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta\nhas installed temporary level crossing gates at the JPL 86 crossing\nlocated on Jalan Ampera, near Bekasi Timur Station, to improve the\nsafety of train journeys and road users.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to inform that what has been installed currently is a\ntemporary gate, not an official level crossing gate. This is part of the\ninitial stage of safety enhancement,\u201d said Manager of Public Relations\nfor KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the temporary gate can be guarded through community\nself-help efforts in the local area, coordinated with the sub-district\noffice.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of no guarding, the gate must be in the closed position\nas a safety measure for the train journeys and the public using the\nroad.<\/p>\n<p>Franoto emphasised that the guarding aspect is a crucial factor in\nthe operation of the level crossing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause the unguarded condition is very dangerous for train journeys\nand the public,\u201d Franoto stressed.<\/p>\n<p>The installation of the temporary gate has been coordinated with the\nBekasi City Transportation Department and the Duren Jaya Sub-district,\nBekasi Timur District.<\/p>\n<p>In the future, KAI will continue to coordinate and encourage\nstakeholders, both central and local government agencies, to determine a\npermanent handling solution to improve safety, including through the\nconstruction of non-level crossings, such as flyovers or\nunderpasses.<\/p>\n<p>KAI Daop 1 Jakarta urges the public to always prioritise train\njourneys and increase vigilance when crossing level crossings by\nstopping briefly, looking to the right and left, and ensuring the\nconditions are truly safe before crossing, whether at guarded or\nunguarded crossings.<\/p>",
