The Association of Indonesian Telecommunications Providers (ATSI) has\ncommitted to offering service packages featuring internet quota\naccumulation, or rollover, following a lawsuit at the Constitutional\nCourt against the system of monthly expiring data quotas.<\/p>\n
ATSI Executive Director Marwan O. Baasir revealed this during a\nhearing for Petition Number 273\/PUU-XXIII\/2025 and 33\/PUU-XXIV\/2026\nconcerning the lawsuit over non-accumulating expiring internet quota\nschemes on Thursday (18\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
During the session, he presented the results of ATSI\u2019s discussions\nwith mobile operators Telkomsel, Indosat, and XLSmart, undertaken to\nfollow up on the direction and recommendations of the panel of judges at\na previous hearing. They have formulated several alternative formulas to\naddress the demands.<\/p>\n
Firstly, ATSI and the mobile operators have provided and will\ncontinue to provide and develop various choices of internet service\npackages that offer greater flexibility for customers. These include\ninternet service packages using quota accumulation features (rollover),\nnon-rollover, and other service innovations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the availability of these various choices and innovations,\ncustomers can select the service that best suits their respective needs,\ncapabilities, and usage patterns,\u201d Marwan stated, as quoted from the\nofficial website of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of\nIndonesia on Friday (19\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
Secondly, ATSI together with the mobile operators are committed to\nenhancing transparency and ease of information access for customers.\nThis effort is carried out by presenting information related to internet\nproducts and services in a more concise and easy-to-understand format,\nas well as providing various information channels that allow customers\nto monitor data usage and remaining quota more practically.<\/p>\n
Thirdly, ATSI and the mobile operators will also continue to\nstrengthen the protection of customer rights. One way is through the\nimprovement of complaint handling systems and the implementation of\nperiodic service evaluations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis step is taken to improve the customer experience while\nmaintaining sustainable service quality,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Finally, ATSI stated that the policies and regulations applicable to\ninternet services have in fact considered various interests in a\nbalanced manner, ranging from customer needs to the operational\nsustainability of telecommunications providers. This approach is\nconsidered important to ensure the public continues to receive inclusive\nand quality services, while supporting mobile operators in expanding\ninvestment, improving network infrastructure, and delivering service\ninnovations throughout Indonesia.<\/p>\n
