Telkomsel forecasts an increase in internet traffic in five regions\nduring the Lebaran mudik period. The peak payload in the Jakarta and\nBanten regional area during the mudik season is around 6.38 Petabytes\n(PB), an increase of about 3.30 per cent compared to normal days, said\nAde Mulyono, General Manager of Region Network Operations and\nProductivity for Jakarta and Banten, Telkomsel, in Tangerang on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n
The increase in customer digital activity spans categories such as\nvideo streaming, communications, games, online shopping, and social\nmedia.<\/p>\n
To provide comfort for customers accessing Telkomsel's digital\nservices, they have optimised the network at 21 priority Points of\nInterest (POIs) across categories (special areas\/crowded places,\ntransport, mudik routes, residential areas, and places of worship).<\/p>\n
Additionally, 10 Compact Mobile BTS (COMBAT) units will be deployed\nat locations with high potential crowding to ensure capacity and signal\nquality remains prime.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also conducted drive tests spanning 1,299 kilometres, including\n871 kilometres of toll roads, to ensure coverage and the quality of\nvoice and data services is adequate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
