In August 2000, PT Telkom offered new telephone lines through
\nits ads in the printed media, for which consumers could register
\nby calling the company. I contacted them to secure one line for
\nmy new house in Pekayon, East Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Within several days, I was summoned to the Telkom office to
\nsubmit documents for the connection, before a survey and
\ninstallation could be conducted. Later, I was told that my
\napplication was accepted and again, I had to visit Telkom to pay
\nadministrative charges.<\/p>\n
To my surprise, at the office I got a letter notifying the
\npostponement of the installation and was told that the previous
\ninformation was mistaken. Since then, all questions have been
\nanswered with the reply that the network was not yet available.<\/p>\n
What I cannot understand is the phrase in the postponement
\nnote that my registration is Telkom's priority, and equally
\npuzzling is the statement, \"Thank you for your trust in PT
\nTelkom\", while almost two and a half years have elapsed without
\nany installation as promised.<\/p>\n
Why should Telkom just give us lip service? In addition, what
\nuse is the subscription rate increase, if one of the purposes is
\nfor network expansion?<\/p>\n
