PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) is committed to continuing\nto provide support for communities affected by the earthquake in East\nNusa Tenggara (NTT). One of the measures is opening communication and\ninternet access at a number of evacuation sites.<\/p>\n
The internet access is available free of charge and can be used by\nthe public at no cost. The provision of emergency internet access is one\nof TelkomGroup\u2019s steps to support residents\u2019 communication needs during\nthe response and recovery period.<\/p>\n
Telkom Network Director Nanang Hendarno said that in a disaster\nsituation, the need to stay connected becomes increasingly important,\nboth for the public to communicate with family and for officers and\nparties involved in carrying out handling on the ground. \u201cTherefore,\nTelkomGroup is providing various connectivity support at strategic\npoints and ensuring that the public continues to have reliable\ncommunication access,\u201d said Nanang.<\/p>\n
As part of connectivity support on the ground, Telkomsel Disaster\nAlert Posts have been established at several locations, namely Gelora\nSamador Maumere, GraPARI Maumere, and the Telkomsel Authorized Partner\n(TAP) Rajawali Maumere. Meanwhile, posts in Mbay Nagekeo, TAP Borong,\nand TAP Ruteng, as well as the Telkom Regional Office in Flores and\nsurrounding areas, are in the process of being prepared to support the\ncommunity\u2019s needs more broadly.<\/p>\n
At the Gelora Samador Maumere post, Telkomsel is providing IndiHome\nservices with speeds of 200 Mbps and Mesh WiFi free of charge, which can\nnow be used for various needs at the evacuation site. The access is\nbeing used, among others, by the Sikka Resort Police to provide\nentertainment for children through film screenings at the evacuation\npost.<\/p>\n
In addition to providing free internet at the posts, TelkomGroup is\nproviding communication support through the distribution of SIMPATI\nstarter packs and quota vouchers for residents in need, as well as an\nEmergency Package for Telkomsel customers of 3GB of data, 1,000 SMS, and\n300 minutes of calls for Rp 1 with a validity period of seven days,\nwhich can be activated via 888<\/em>20#. These various services help\nresidents and customers stay connected to communicate with family and\nobtain the information needed during the disaster response and recovery\nperiod.<\/p>\n To provide real-time access to information on handling in the field,\nthe TelkomGroup Disaster Response Hotline at 0800-111-9000 is also\navailable and can be accessed 24 hours a day free of charge. The public\ncan use the hotline to obtain information and updates regarding service\nconditions and disaster handling.<\/p>\n TelkomGroup will continue to accompany the community during the\nrecovery period by providing support according to needs on the ground,\nwhile monitoring infrastructure conditions and accelerating service\nrepairs to ensure digital connectivity can soon return to optimal\nlevels.<\/p>",
