Bandung (ANTARA) \u2013 Telkom University has pledged to continue\nproviding intensive support to the victim through senior residents, to\nensure the safety of everyone involved in the case.<\/p>\n
The university\u2019s Vice-Rector III, Prof.\u00a0Dr Ratri Wahyuningtyas, said\nin Bandung, West Java, on Sunday that the support was intended to\nsafeguard all parties involved and ensure the victim was protected while\nthe case was being handled.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut we are trying to ensure that everyone, particularly the victims,\nis doing well. We are providing protection and support, including\ncounselling, to safeguard their physical and mental health,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
In addition to support in the dormitory, the university is also\nproviding counselling to help maintain the victim\u2019s physical and mental\nwellbeing after the alleged bullying came to light.<\/p>\n
She said the decision to house the parties separately was part of the\nuniversity\u2019s efforts to protect the victim and others involved in\nhandling the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have secured and are supporting the victim. Both the alleged\nperpetrators and the victim have been placed in different areas of the\ndormitory, with support from senior residents,\u201d Ratri said at a press\nconference.<\/p>\n
Ratri explained that the case involved new students who began\ninteracting during the New Student Campus Life Orientation (PKKMB) and\nlater became dormitory-mates.<\/p>\n
According to her, the victim and the alleged perpetrators had not\nbeen close before joining Telkom University.<\/p>\n
