Ltd. (AAPT), it was announced here.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition costing A$55 million (about US$40 million) was<br>\nthrough wholly-owned subsidiary Singapore Telecom International<br>\nPte. Ltd. (STI), according to a statement by Singapore Telecom.<\/p>\n<p>\"This amount will be paid in cash for new ordinary shares in<br>\nthe capital of AAPT,\" the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>It added that the investment was subject to approval by the<br>\nAustralian Foreign Investment Review Board, with a decision<br>\nexpected sometime next month.<\/p>\n<p>The other shareholders of AAPT, the third largest long<br>\ndistance telephone company in Australia, are AAP Information<br>\nServices Pty.
