He affirmed that the\naccusations are a repetition of old narratives, which he believes lack\nstrong evidence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever they accuse regarding Iran\u2019s nuclear programme, Iran\u2019s\nballistic missiles, and the number of victims in the January unrest, is\njust a repetition of big lies,\u201d he wrote on the X platform.<\/p>\n<p>Several hours earlier, Trump stated that Iran is seeking to develop\nmissiles that can reach the US mainland. He affirmed that Iran will\nnever be allowed to possess nuclear weapons and accused Tehran\u2019s leaders\nof pursuing dangerous nuclear ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>The Iranian government has repeatedly denied that it is developing\nnuclear weapons. Tehran insists that its nuclear programme is intended\nfor peaceful and civilian purposes, not for military purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, previously stated that\nhis country does not have the capability to strike the United States.\nHowever, he warned that Iran would target US military bases in the\nMiddle East if Washington launched an attack.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate statement, Trump also accused Iranian authorities of\nbeing responsible for 32,000 deaths in the wave of protests that broke\nout in December and peaked on January 8-9.
