        "content": "<p>Police have revealed the statements of two teenagers who bullied a\nsix-year-old boy, resulting in him being electrocuted at Kramat Park,\nKramat Village, Senen District, Central Jakarta. They claimed they did\nnot know the pole in the park carried an electrical current.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the examination results, the juveniles in conflict with the law\nadmitted they did not know the lamp post had an electrical current,\u201d\nsaid the Head of the PPA-PPO Unit at the Central Jakarta Metro Police,\nKompol Rita Oktavia Shinta, in a statement on Friday (12\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>However, the police are still processing the incident. The\nperpetrators panicked when they saw the victim faint after being pressed\nagainst the park pole. They then took the victim back to his home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey seemed to panic, judging from the CCTV footage. They panicked,\nand eventually one of the suspected perpetrators pulled the child away\nfrom the pole. Then, because the victim fainted, the suspected\nperpetrator took the victim home,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>Although the perpetrators claimed they did not know the pole was\nlive, Rita stressed that the case is still being processed. She also\nconfirmed that the rights of the underage perpetrators are being\nfulfilled in accordance with applicable regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, the act that caused the victim injury and required medical\ntreatment remains the basis for legal proceedings. Investigators are\ncurrently completing the case file to be coordinated with the public\nprosecutor,\u201d said Rita.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are fulfilling the rights of both the victim and the juveniles in\nconflict with the law. We are also coordinating with the Correctional\nCentre, social workers, and the prosecutor\u2019s office to ensure the case\nhandling proceeds according to regulations,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The two juveniles are being processed under Article 76C in\nconjunction with Article 80 of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning the\nStipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 on\nthe Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 on Child Protection, which\nprohibits violence against children.<\/p>\n<p>Suspect ALR (17) will be detained, while RM (13) will be returned to\nhis parents and subjected to a mandatory reporting obligation during the\ninvestigation process.<\/p>",
