Teen indicted for killing girlfriend<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A 17-year old schoolboy was indicted at West
\nJakarta District Court on Monday, on charges of administering an
\noverdose of chloroform to his girlfriend, after she refused a
\ndate. He was aided in the crime by two family servants.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Patta Sikapang said in a closed trial the
\ndefendant, Teddy Yaputra Sulaiman, along with his accomplices,
\ndrugged the victim, Heppy Trinita, 17, on April 25, and planned
\nto rape her but found her already dead.<\/p>\n
\"The defendant was angry after being rejected by the victim.
\nHeppy asked Teddy not to meet her any longer, telling him that
\nshe would study overseas,\" Sikapang said.<\/p>\n
He said the senior high school student, along with Iksan
\nMulyono and Blacktozom Apua Walela, two servants at his house,
\nplanned to kidnap Heppy.<\/p>\n
According to the initial plan, Teddy and Heppy would go out
\ntogether and then be stopped by Iksan and Blacktozom. Teddy would
\nthen be robbed by Iksan, while Blacktozom would drug the victim
\nwith chloroform, Sikapang said.<\/p>\n
Teddy watched Iksan and Blacktozom test the chloroform on a
\nchicken and rabbit before committing the crime, the prosecutor
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Teddy, a son of a restaurant chain owner, then contacted Heppy
\nabout going to watch a film for a farewell party.<\/p>\n
He then picked her up from her aunt's house on Jl. Akasia,
\nKedoya, in West Jakarta, the prosecutor said.<\/p>\n
The couple drove in a Mercedes Benz sedan to a deserted place
\nnear SMU Kemurnian senior high school on Jl. Sekretaris, Duri
\nKepa, also in West Jakarta, where Iksan and Blacktozom were
\nalready waiting, he said.<\/p>\n
Sikapang said as they had planned, Iksan pointed a knife at
\nTeddy while Blacktozom grabbed Heppy and covered her nose and
\nmouth with a handkerchief soaked in chloroform.<\/p>\n
After the victim felt limp, he said, Iksan and Blacktozom left
\nTeddy with Heppy.<\/p>\n
The SMU second-grade student then took Heppy to a room at
\nHotel Pondok Citra on Jl. Daan Mogot which he already booked, the
\nprosecutor said.<\/p>\n
The defendant then asked a hotel employee, identified as
\nAchyar, to help him carry the victim from the sedan to the room,
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
Alerted by the victim's condition, the employee refused and
\ninstead asked the guest to immediately bring the girl to a nearby
\nhospital.<\/p>\n
A medical doctor from Hidup Sehat clinic came by later to
\ncheck up on her condition and told Teddy that Heppy was already
\ndead, he said.<\/p>\n
Sikapang charged the defendant under Article 353 (3) of the
\nCriminal Code for torture leading to death which carries a
\nmaximum punishment of nine years in prison.<\/p>\n
Teddy's lawyer Hotma Sitompoel asked the court to drop the
\ncase in his response statement on Monday, citing Teddy's case
\nshould be handled by a special prosecutor since the defendant was
\na minor.<\/p>\n
\"The indictment should be dropped since the prosecutor was not
\nequipped with a special letter to handle the case,\" Hotma said.<\/p>\n
Teddy was released on bail on June 30 while Iksan and
\nBlacktozom will be tried in separate sessions at the same court
