Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya believes that Indonesian society\ntrusts President Prabowo Subianto more than observers. According to\nTeddy, these observers tend to create anxiety about the state of the\nnation.<\/p>\n
Teddy stated that these observers have long tried to influence public\nopinion. \u201cMost of these observers have been trying to influence citizens\nand shape public opinion for a long time, even before Mr Prabowo became\npresident,\u201d said Teddy at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday\nnight, 10 April 2026.<\/p>\n
According to Teddy, the number of observers is increasing. However,\nhe claims they often speak without basis in fact or with erroneous data.\nHe calls this phenomenon \u201cobserver inflation\u201d.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Teddy is confident that the public trusts the\ngovernment more than the observers. \u201cThese observers have influenced\ncitizens, but what are the facts? The fact is that more than 96 million\ncitizens trust Mr Prabowo and do not trust them. That is concrete proof\nof public trust, not just an assumption,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Teddy stated that differing opinions and criticism are perfectly\nacceptable. \u201cBut we should not make statements that lead to anxiety,\nmaking people worried about this nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Teddy remarked that Indonesia is currently in good condition.\n\u201cEverything is stable, everything is under control, let us all work\ntogether to achieve the best moving forward,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, everyone should have hope and good prayers for the\nnation. \u201cWe should not be the ones encouraging others to have bad hopes\nand prayers for the nation we love,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo previously accused several observers of lacking a\npatriotic stance. He claimed they gain financial benefits from\ncriticising the government.<\/p>\n
Prabowo said there are several types of observers in Indonesia. One\nof them, he said, are those who do not want his government to succeed\ndue to hidden motives. \u201cIn my view, their attitude is narrow-minded, not\npatriotic,\u201d said Prabowo during a cabinet meeting at the Presidential\nPalace in Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.<\/p>\n
Prabowo stated that he regularly receives intelligence reports about\nobservers who dislike the government. From those reports, he said, he\nknows the parties funding them.<\/p>\n
Prabowo said he wants to take action against them. \u201cIn due time, we\nwill straighten all that out. But for now, we are still trying with\npersuasive methods,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo speculated about the motivations of these critics. According\nto him, they might feel defeated, powerless, or have lost sources of\nfunding because of his government\u2019s firm stance against corruption.<\/p>\n
