Teater Mandiri to perform in Cairo<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Indonesia's leading theater group is taking part in an
\ninternational theater festival in Cairo, the Egyptian Ambassador
\nto Indonesia Mohamed E. Taha said in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\"Teater Mandiri is participating in the 17th Cairo
\nInternational Festival For Experimental Theater (CIFET),\"
\nAmbassador Taha told The Jakarta Post recently.<\/p>\n
\"The festival, an annual event, pays tribute every year to
\npillars of experimental theater all over the world --
\nplaywrights, directors and technicians,\" the Egyptian embassy
\nsaid in a press release sent to the Post.<\/p>\n
The Indonesian group will perform Zero, a play written and
\ndirected by famous Indonesian playwright Putu Wijaya, at the
\nCIFET 2005 in the Egyptian capital, with Putu also acting in the
\nplay.<\/p>\n
Zero has been performed in Taipei, Jakarta, Bandung and
\nMalang.<\/p>\n
The embassy said the CIFET, which began on Sept. 20, would
\ncontinue until Sept. 30, 2005. -- JP<\/p>",
