        "content": "<p>The Education and Teachers Association (P2G) has firmly rejected a\nproposal to grant electric motorcycles, which were procured by the\nNational Nutrition Agency (BGN) in 2025, to honorary teachers. Iman\nZanatul Haeri, Head of Advocacy at P2G, stated on Monday, 22 June 2026,\nthat teachers do not need electric motorcycles. He argued that\ndistributing motorcycles left over from a case of alleged corruption\nwithin the BGN to teachers is neither proper nor wise. \u201cSo this is an\nunwise treatment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Iman emphasised that what teachers primarily need is certainty\nregarding a decent salary and clear employment status. Honorary teachers\nare desperately hoping for clarity on when they will be appointed as\nState Civil Apparatus (ASN) and have their welfare guaranteed. He also\nnoted that the electric motorcycles were originally intended for\nemployees of the Nutritional Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) kitchens,\nnot for teachers. \u201cHow can teachers have motorcycles when the government\nhasn\u2019t even considered the operational aspects of these vehicles in\nvarious regions? We think the policy design must be clear. From the\nstart, these were not for teachers,\u201d Iman stated.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Yahya Zaini, Deputy Chairman of House Commission IX,\nexpressed support for the plan to distribute the BGN\u2019s electric\nmotorcycles to honorary teachers. He stated that the grant was a\nsolution to ensure assets purchased with state funds still provide\nbenefits to the public. However, Yahya admitted he had disagreed with\nthe initial procurement of the motorcycles for SPPG operations, arguing\nthat the kitchen staff for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme did\nnot require such mobility in their work. BGN spokesperson and Deputy\nHead Agustina Arumsari has yet to respond to requests for confirmation\non the plan, only stating previously that all goods procured in 2025 are\nbeing reviewed for maximum utilisation and that the agency does not wish\nto repeat mistakes in procurement.<\/p>",
