        "content": "<p>Taxi drivers protest management<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: At least 100 Gaspermindo taxi drivers thronged the<br>\nCity Council building on Wednesday, complaining about a lack of<br>\ntransparency in the taxi company's management.<\/p>\n<p>\"We are demanding that the management resign for the lack of<br>\ntransparency in managing the company. We held a meeting today but<br>\nwere forced to disperse,\" the drivers' spokesman, Jose Rizal,<br>\ntold reporters.<\/p>\n<p>The company is reportedly owned by Muslim activists Eggy<br>\nSudjana and Jumhur Hidayat, who allegedly often compel the<br>\ndrivers to join their street rallies.<\/p>\n<p>The drivers complained that the company had increased the<br>\nprice for a KIA sedan taxi from Rp 75 million (US$7,500) to Rp 83<br>\nmillion.<\/p>\n<p>Four drivers, including Jose Rizal, were suspended by the<br>\ncompany for questioning the increase in the taxi prices.--JP<\/p>",
