        "content": "<p>Taxes on property rentals<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The government, through a finance minister<br>\ndecree, has imposed final income taxes on property rentals in a<br>\nbid to increase its domestic revenues.<\/p>\n<p>Finance Minister Decree No. 394\/KMK.04\/1996, dated June 5,<br>\nstipulates that a 6 percent final rent-income tax will be imposed<br>\non corporate tax payers and a 10 percent final rent-income tax on<br>\nindividual tax payers.<\/p>\n<p>The decree, which is a follow-up to Government Ruling No.<br>\n29\/1996, states that the percentage of the income taxes are<br>\nderived from the gross value of the rents, including service<br>\ncharges and maintenance costs.<\/p>\n<p>Rented properties subject to the final rent-income taxes<br>\ninclude land, houses, apartments, condominiums, office space,<br>\nretail space, house-office buildings, shop-house buildings,<br>\nwarehouses and industrial buildings.
