        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto\nhas affirmed that taxpayers\u2019 confidentiality will be maintained even as\nthe Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) broadens access to information\nand data under Finance Minister Regulation PMK 8\/2026, which revises PMK\n228\/2017. \u2018So it is clearly in line with Article 34 concerning taxpayer\nconfidentiality; it is embedded in our system,\u2019 Bimo said at the Tax\nClass event at the DJP Central Office in Jakarta, quoted on Thursday\n(6\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that the assurance of data confidentiality has been\nconsulted with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs\n(Kominfo) and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). From these\nconsultations, he noted that all DJP systems possess sufficient capacity\nto protect the sovereignty and security of taxpayers\u2019 data and\ninformation, including the expanded scope of credit card transactions\nunder PMK 8\/2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018To do with Cortex, it is not only BSSN but there have been\npenetration tests by several independent bodies, including the National\nIntelligence Agency (BIN), BAIS (Strategic Intelligence Agency) and\nvarious others. So we guarantee sovereignty and security,\u2019 Bimo\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>As is known, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has expanded the\nscope of ILAP (the acronym for reporting data and information) to\ninclude government agencies, institutions, associations, and other\nparties, i.e., ILAP, to report data and information to the Directorate\nGeneral of Taxes (DJP), including from the banking sector.<\/p>\n<p>This obligation, as set out in PMK 8\/2026 revising PMK 228\/2017,\ncommenced on 27 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018To provide legal certainty, usefulness, and clarity regarding the\nimplementation of activities for submitting data and information by\ngovernment agencies, institutions, associations, and other parties, and\nthe activities of compiling data and information for state revenue\npurposes,\u2019 quoted from the PMK 8\/2026 recitals, Monday (2\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Specifically for banking, the data and information that must be\nreported to DJP related to the operation of credit cards, as previously\nregulated in PMK 228\/2017. But in the latest PMK, PMK 8\/2026, the\nreporting entities have been expanded.<\/p>\n<p>Under the old PMK, the number of banking entities or credit card\nissuers that were required to report stood at 23; under the new PMK,\nthat number rises to 27.
