Taufik launches biography<\/p>\n

Indonesian badminton star Taufik Hidayat, who is currently
\ngrappling with a coaching problem, launched his biography, Taufik
\nHidayat, the Driving Force in Badminton, here on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
"I want to share information and my experiences in badminton
\nwith my fans. Hopefully, the book can satisfy them," the 22-year-
\nold Taufik said at a media conference here.<\/p>\n
The 100-page book was completed in less than one month,
\naccording to writer Broto Happy.<\/p>\n
"I have been compiling data, including comments by Taufik,
\nsince 1994 when I first got to know him," said Broto, who is a
\nsenior journalist at the tabloid Bola.<\/p>\n
The book contains seven chapters with topics ranging from
\nTaufik's early rise to badminton fame, his successes and failures
\nin tournaments and his falling out with the Badminton Association
\nof Indonesian, to his relationship with soap opera star Deswita
\nMaharani.<\/p>\n
"I want to tell fans who I am, not only about badminton but
\nalso about my off-court life," Taufik said.<\/p>\n
Past badminton stars, including eight-time All England
\nchampion Rudi Hartono, released biographies after they retired
\nfrom the sport.<\/p>\n
"I hope this book can motivate me to play ever better," Taufik
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Copies of the book will go on sale in conjunction with the
\nongoing JVC Asia badminton championship at the Bung Karno indoor
\ntennis hall, where Taufik will be looking to improve on his
\nsecond place finish in Bangkok last year.<\/p>\n
However, he will have to deal with his parting from coach Joko
\nSupriyanto.<\/p>\n
Taufik successfully defended his Indonesia Open title last
\nmonth, but then lost in the quarterfinals of the Denmark Open,
\nhis first tournament without the presence of a coach.<\/p>",
