        "content": "<p>The Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task\nForce (PRR) has reported progress in restoring connectivity in Aceh,\nNorth Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The recovery efforts are focused on\nrepairing roads and bridges, as well as restoring electricity and\ntelecommunications to ensure the mobility of residents and the\ndistribution of logistics.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Sumatra Post-Disaster PRR Task Force, Muhammad Tito\nKarnavian, emphasised that accelerating infrastructure development is\nkey to recovery. While inspecting disaster survivors in Pidie Jaya,\nAceh, on Saturday (21st February), Tito highlighted the importance of\naccelerating construction, especially for bridges that were damaged by\nthe disaster.<\/p>\n<p>Tito stated that he had coordinated with the Minister of Public\nWorks, Dody Hanggodo, regarding the acceleration of the construction of\nbridges affected by the disaster in Sumatra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI contacted the Minister of Public Works earlier, as well as the\nPublic Works officials. The Minister has informed me,\u201d said Tito in a\nwritten statement on Thursday (26th February 2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to the PRR Task Force\u2019s data as of 23rd February 2026, the\nrestoration of connectivity includes physical infrastructure such as the\nrepair of roads and bridges, as well as the repair of electricity,\ntelecommunications, base transceiver stations (BTS), and internet\nnetworks.<\/p>\n<p>In Aceh, of the 38 national roads affected, all are now fully\noperational. The same applies to the 17 national bridges affected, all\nof which are now fully usable. For regional roads, of the 1,637 affected\nsections, 1,521 sections, or 92 per cent, are now fully operational.\nMeanwhile, of the 650 regional bridges affected, 351 bridges, or 54 per\ncent, are now fully operational.<\/p>\n<p>In North Sumatra, all 30 affected national roads are now fully\noperational. The five affected bridges are also reported to be fully\nusable. For regional roads, of the 616 affected sections, 607 sections,\nor 98 per cent, are now fully operational. Meanwhile, of the 366\nregional bridges affected, 344 bridges, or 93 per cent, are now fully\noperational.<\/p>\n<p>The progress in repairing land connectivity in West Sumatra has also\nbeen reported to be increasing. Of the 31 affected roads, all are now\nfully operational. The same applies to the 13 affected bridges, all of\nwhich are also fully operational. For regional roads, of the 167\naffected sections, 149 sections, or 91 per cent, are now fully\noperational. Meanwhile, of the 162 regional bridges affected, 95\nbridges, or 54.9 per cent, are now fully operational.<\/p>\n<p>The Task Force also reported that the restoration of electricity and\ntelecommunications is showing a positive trend. The electricity supply\nin West Sumatra is reported to have been fully restored. In Aceh and\nNorth Sumatra, only a small number of customers remain in the process of\nbeing attended to. In addition, all BTS that were previously affected in\nthe three provinces are now reported to be functioning at 100 per\ncent.<\/p>",
