An attempted robbery targeted an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver\nnamed Jonih Jaswara (48) on Jalan Ciawi-Singaparna (Cisinga), Jamanis\nDistrict, Tasikmalaya Regency. Fortunately, the attempt was thwarted\nafter Jonih fought back against the perpetrator.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday (29\/8\/2026).\nDuring the attack, Jonih\u2019s neck was briefly strangled with a rope by the\nperpetrator.<\/p>\n
The suspect, identified by the initials GTW (26), was eventually\napprehended and taken into police custody. The incident began when the\nvictim was waiting for passengers near the Rancabango T-junction in\nTasikmalaya City at around 00.05 WIB. The suspect approached him and\nrequested a ride to Kiarajangkung in Rajapolah District.<\/p>\n
The suspect, a resident of Gunungcupu in Ciamis Regency, placed the\norder offline. The victim then gave the suspect a ride on his Yamaha\nNMax motorcycle.<\/p>\n
However, upon arriving at the destination at around 01.00 WIB, the\nsuspect refused to get off. Instead, he continued directing the victim\ntowards a dark and deserted road in the Cisinga area.<\/p>\n
\u201cI asked him where exactly he wanted to go, but he told me to stop\nasking questions,\u201d said Jonih.<\/p>\n
Upon reaching a quiet spot by the roadside, the suspect told the\nvictim to stop. The suspect immediately launched his attack. However,\nthe victim did not remain passive. He struggled until he fell to the\nground. The suspect then took control of the motorcycle.<\/p>\n
Seeing the suspect sitting on his motorcycle with the engine still\nrunning, the victim got up and fought back. Jonih managed to overpower\nthe suspect until he could no longer resist.<\/p>\n
Tasikmalaya City Police Public Relations Head, IPTU Jajang Kurniawan,\nconfirmed the arrest of the attempted robbery suspect.<\/p>\n
