Tasik ready for NU parlay<\/p>\n
BANDUNG: The host organizers of the upcoming congress of
\nNahdlatul Ulama, Indonesia's largest Moslem organization, says
\nthey are ready to accommodate the participants and observers to
\nthe big gathering.<\/p>\n
The Cipasung Moslem boarding school in Tasikmalaya, where the
\ncongress will be held, said it is anticipating 5,000 people,
\nincluding 3,500 delegates.<\/p>\n
The congress is expected to be opened by President Soeharto,
\naccording to the Antara news agency.<\/p>\n
"We're 85 percent complete with building the necessary
\ninfrastructures and facilities," said the school's administrator,
\nRuchiyat Ilyas. He said these include the construction of roads,
\nmeeting halls, plus providing telecommunications, electricity and
\nwater.<\/p>\n
The provincial West Java government and the local public have
\nalso contributed to the funds needed to stage the meeting.<\/p>\n
Cipasung is located in the Singaparna District which is
\napproximately 15 km from Tasikmalaya. (emb)<\/p>",
