        "content": "<p>Tariff exemption<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Ministry of Finance announced over the<br>\nweekend that imports of certain raw materials and appliances for<br>\nautomobile bodies and heavy equipment are exempted from duties.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry, under a ministerial decree effective since Sept.<br>\n19, has also stipulated that the government has also extended by<br>\none year the tariff exemption on imports of raw materials, spare<br>\nparts, components, and reparation and maintenance equipment for<br>\naircraft.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ministry, the duty exemption policy has<br>\nhelped increase the cost efficiency and competitiveness of the<br>\nnational aircraft maintenance industry.<\/p>\n<p>To obtain duty exemptions, importers are required to submit a<br>\nproposal to the Director General of Customs and Excise, with<br>\ncopies sent to the Ministry of Transportation's Director General<br>\nof Air Transportation.
