        "content": "<p>Tanker train derails in Banyumas<\/p>\n<p>BANYUMAS, Central Java (JP): A tanker train carrying 360,000 <br>\nliters of diesel was derailed in Banyumas regency, Central Java, <br>\non its way from Cilacap to Tegal, also in Central Java, on <br>\nSunday, causing at least 18 trains using the Purwokerto-Jakarta <br>\nline to be delayed for nine hours. No fatalities were reported.<\/p>\n<p>The tanker train went off the tracks at Karanggandul village, <br>\nbetween Karanggandul and Karangsari railroad stations, Supriyadi, <br>\na spokesman for the railroad company PT KAI in Purwokerto, said <br>\non Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Repair work undertaken by PT KAI's Purwokerto workshop was <br>\nfinished on Monday morning, enabling the tanker train to proceed <br>\nsafely to Tegal and the resumption of regular rail services via <br>\nBanyumas.<\/p>\n<p>Supriyadi said a team had been set up to investigate the <br>\nincident.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday's accident took place only two weeks after the <br>\ncountry's worst rail disaster so far this year, in which a <br>\nYogyakarta-bound train rammed into a locomotive at Cirebon <br>\nstation, West Java, killing at least 41 people.<\/p>\n<p>Among the executive trains whose departures were canceled due <br>\nto the tanker car derailment were the Gajayana, Taksaka, Bima and <br>\nArgo Dwipangga expresses, all of which use the line between <br>\nPurwokerto and Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>No shortage of supplies in gas stations in Pekalongan, Tegal, <br>\nBrebes or Pemalang were reported following the tanker train's <br>\ndelayed arrival.<\/p>\n<p>\"Customers who failed to travel due to the accident received a <br>\nticket refund, and the passengers who were stranded received <br>\ncompensation in the form of complimentary meals,\" Supriyadi <br>\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>The railroad company's losses arising from the derailment and <br>\nthe refunds have not yet been estimated, \"but the important thing <br>\nis to restore railroad services to normal,\" he concluded.
