Tang's lawyers seeking to quit<\/p>\n
SINGAPORE (AFP): Two lawyers representing Singapore's
\nopposition figure Tang Liang Hong in his legal battle with the
\nruling People's Action Party (PAP) have sought court permission
\nto stop acting as his counsel, a report said yesterday.<\/p>\n
The lawyers' decision to pull out followed a statement by Tang
\nin the Straits Times daily on Wednesday that he was disappointed
\nby their failure to file his affidavit in a case against Senior
\nMinister Lee Kuan Yew.<\/p>\n
The Straits Times reported in a front-page article yesterday
\nthat Peter Low and Loo Ngan Chor felt it would be impossible for
\nthem to remain as Tang's lawyers after the statement he made
\nabout them in an interview with the daily.<\/p>\n
Their application to stop acting for the 63-year-old Tang, who
\nfled Singapore after losing in the January election by a close
\nmargin, will be heard in court today, three days before another
\nkey hearing involving Tang.<\/p>",
