The Tangerang City Government in Banten is preparing strategic\nmeasures involving the arrangement and strengthening of infrastructure\nin the area surrounding Soekarno-Hatta Airport to support its entry into\nthe top 10 best airports in the world by 2029.<\/p>\n
\u201cSoekarno-Hatta Airport is not only Indonesia\u2019s main gateway to the\ninternational world, but also one of the main drivers of economic growth\nfor Tangerang City. Therefore, we are ready to support the various\nacceleration steps being taken so that this target can be achieved,\u201d\nsaid Tangerang Deputy Mayor Maryono Hasan on Friday.<\/p>\n
Maryono also emphasised that the Tangerang City Government is ready\nto play a role in supporting the transformation of Soekarno-Hatta\nAirport, particularly through strengthening the infrastructure of the\nbuffer zone and improving the environmental quality around the\nairport.<\/p>\n
According to him, one focus currently being strengthened is flood\nmanagement in the area around the airport as part of efforts to improve\naccessibility, comfort, and the quality of airport services.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis study will later become the basis for preparing integrated\nflood management measures in the Soekarno-Hatta area. The aim is not\nonly to reduce the risk of inundation, but also to support the smooth\noperation of the airport and improve the safety and comfort of the\nsurrounding community,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
In addition, the results of a study with PT Jasamarga also recommend\nthe construction of a retention pond as one of the long-term solutions\nfor flood control in the airport buffer zone.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough collaboration between the central government, regional\ngovernment, airport operators, and all stakeholders, we are optimistic\nthat the target of making Soekarno-Hatta one of the top 10 airports in\nthe world can be achieved. Previously, Deputy Mayor Maryono attended a Coordination Meeting on\nStrengthening Airport Ecosystem Governance led by Coordinating Minister\nfor Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono\n(AHY) in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
In the meeting, AHY conveyed the target for Soekarno-Hatta Airport to\nbreak into the top 10 best airports in the world by 2029. The target is\nconsidered realistic considering the upward trend in Soekarno-Hatta\u2019s\nranking, which has continued to show progress in recent years.<\/p>\n
