Police have arrested a man with the initials KM suspected of carrying\nout random attacks using a sharp weapon against residents in the Cibodas\narea, Tangerang City, Banten. The arrest was made following an\ninvestigation into several assault reports that occurred in multiple\nlocations and went viral on social media.<\/p>\n
Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad\nJauhari, stated that the suspect was arrested at his residence in the\nBencongan area, Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency, on Saturday (11\/7) at\napproximately 11.30 WIB. According to Jauhari, investigators identified\nthe suspect based on statements from victims, witnesses, and the results\nof crime scene investigations.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter conducting an investigation and gathering various clues in the\nfield, officers managed to identify the suspect\u2019s whereabouts. During\nthe arrest, the suspect resisted, prompting officers to take security\nmeasures in accordance with procedure,\u201d Jauhari said.<\/p>\n
Police suspect KM carried out his actions by approaching victims on a\nmotorcycle, then wounding them with a sharp object before fleeing. One\nincident occurred on 11 May 2026 on Jalan Sawo X, Cibodasari Village.\nThe victim, Sunarah, had just finished exercising and was riding a\nbicycle when a motorcyclist approached from behind. The victim initially\nonly felt a stinging sensation. However, upon arriving at work, a\ncolleague discovered a laceration on the victim\u2019s right back. The victim\nsubsequently underwent a medical examination and post-mortem.<\/p>\n
A similar incident occurred again on 9 July 2026 on Jalan Bawang VII,\nCibodasari Village. The second victim, Malik, was walking to a\nminimarket when he was allegedly attacked from behind by the suspect\nriding a motorcycle. As a result of the incident, the victim sustained\nan injury to his right waist and received medical treatment including\ntwo stitches.<\/p>\n
Jauhari explained that based on the reports from the two victims,\npolice conducted an in-depth investigation until they identified and\narrested the suspect. During the arrest, police seized a black Honda\nBeat motorcycle believed to have been used during the attacks, as well\nas the clothing worn by the suspect. Currently, investigators are still\nlooking into the suspect\u2019s motive, including the possibility of other\nvictims with a similar pattern of incidents.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are still conducting intensive examinations of the suspect and\ninvestigating the possibility of other victims.
