Tangerang officials threaten to resign<\/p>\n
TANGERANG (JP): Ten subdistrict heads and a district secretary
\nhave sent letters to Tangerang Mayor Djakaria Mahmud threatening
\nto resign if the Tangerang district head is not dismissed.<\/p>\n
The protesters have accused the Tangerang district head,
\nMulyadi Sieska, of being arrogant, very cruel and involved in
\nnepotistic practices.<\/p>\n
"Mulyadi only thinks about money and he always boasts that he
\nhas a close relationship with Mayor Djakaria Mahmud," one of the
\nprotesters was quoted by Antara as saying Thursday.<\/p>\n
The protesters are Subhan Sukanta of Gerendeng subdistrict,
\nSuli Rosali of Margasari, Sapawi of Bugel, Emma Rahmawati of
\nPabuaran Tumpeng, Sentot Alibasya of Babakan, Yusuf Salahudin of
\nKowang Jaya, Santoso of Karawaci Baru, Harry Sudibyo of Kelapa
\nIndah, A.M. Airin of Sumur Pacing, Yoyo Rakhmat of Buaran Indah
\nand Rahmad Hendrawijaya, the district secretary.<\/p>\n
Copies of the officials' letters were sent to the Ministry of
\nHome Affairs, the West Java governor's office, the Tangerang
\nPolice chief, the Tangerang military district chief and the
\nTangerang prosecutor's office.<\/p>\n
"If the district head is not dismissed, we resign," the
\nprotesting official said.<\/p>\n
Suparman, an assistant to the mayoralty's administrative
\naffairs office, said such resignations could damage the
\nreputation of all civil servants.<\/p>\n
Suparman accused the protesters of having no loyalty to the
\ncivil servants corps.<\/p>\n
"If they resign together, it means that they are not
\nsensible. They are just stupid subdistrict heads," Suparman said.<\/p>\n
Separately, Mulyadi Sieska said that the officials had every
\nright to resign. "But it's the governor's authority, through the
