        "content": "<p>Tamansiswa responds<\/p>\n<p>I am writing in response to your article published in The<br>\nJakarta Post on Aug. 24, titled Tamansiswa, legacy of Ki Hadjar<br>\nDewantara. I was wondering what resource you quoted about the<br>\nmatter, since the article, regretfully, was erroneous, misleading<br>\nand incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, we gathered at a national congress attended by more<br>\nthan 132 Tamansiswa branches from Java and Sumatra. The national<br>\nbranches are coordinated by five people.<\/p>\n<p>Last July we commemorated the 80th anniversary of the<br>\ninstitutions and in Yogyakarta we conducted a national seminar on<br>\nstrengthening national economic resilience by empowering<br>\nsmallholders.<\/p>\n<p>To date, Tamansiswa has almost 80,000 elementary and high<br>\nschool students, and more than 15,000 university students.
