Tae kwon do squad ready for Asiad<\/p>\n

The national tae kwon do squad is fired up and ready for the
\ncompetition at the Asian Games, according to team's coach
\nDasantio Prihadi.<\/p>\n
\"The preparation has been well organized. We have taken part
\nin three overseas competitions recently. The physical fitness of
\nthe athletes is at its peak,\" Dasantio told a media conference.<\/p>\n
He said that the fitness was the department he had to work on
\nmost after the World Tae Kwon Do Federation applied a new rule.<\/p>\n
The new rule includes a clause that says each athlete is
\nliable to be penalized when falling to the ground.<\/p>\n
\"The physical form must be excellent. They need more stamina
\nas they struggle to launch attacks, while they also have to keep
\ntheir footing,\" Dasantio said.<\/p>\n
Dasantio was accompanied by Korean coach Yu Yun-taek, who has
\nbeen with the team for three months.<\/p>\n
The squad comprises Juana Wangsa Putri, Ika Dian Fitria,
\nShinta Berliana Heru, Basuki Nugroho, Satriyo Rahadani, Derry
\nDarmansyah and M. Dalam Imam.<\/p>\n
\"The athletes are highly motivated. What we need to work out
\nfurther is to polish their technical and tactical skills,\"
\nDasantio said.<\/p>\n
The team underwent a tryout at the Asian Championship in
\nJordan in April before closing its overseas outings in South
\nKorea, where they took part in two tournaments.<\/p>\n
Dasantio said that he had scouted his proteges' possible
\nrivals since the Jordan meet.<\/p>\n
\"Almost all the participants in Jordan will show up in Busan.
\nWe know their tendencies,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Busan, South Korea, is the venue of the Asian Games, which
\nwill run from Sept. 29 to Oct. 14.<\/p>\n
The athletes also said they were ready for the challenges that
\nwere ahead.<\/p>\n
\"After training in Korea, I have become more motivated,\"
\nJuana, the silver medalist at the Asian Championship, said.<\/p>\n
\"What separates us from the Koreans is that they have more
\ntournament experience than us,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Satriyo, the gold medalist at a Korean tournament, said his
\nBusan matches would be a great challenge, and added that he was
\nanxious to prove he could compete against the best.<\/p>\n
Satriyo was also the silver medalist four years ago when the
\nAsian Games were held in Bangkok. And he said that he was eager
\nto take it one step further.<\/p>\n
Tae kwon do is among the 20 sports that Indonesia, with a
\ntotal of 100 athletes, will compete in at the Asian Games.<\/p>",
