        "content": "<p>Swiss firm develops marine reserve park<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Sulawesi will soon have another marine reserve<br>\ngarden in Tomia, Southeast of the island, in addition to the<br>\nBunaken sea park near Manado, North Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>The new sea park is being developed by the Impac Group of<br>\nSwitzerland on this 115-square-kilometer island about 432<br>\nkilometers from Kendari, the capital of Southeast Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>The island which is also known as Tomea is located in the<br>\nTukang Besi waters in Buton regency.<\/p>\n<p>A director of the Impac Group, Loarenz Maedar, said in Kendari<br>\nthat the sea park in Tomia would attract both Indonesian and<br>\nforeign tourists as it has unique assets compared with other<br>\nmarine reserves in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Tomia has aquatic sponges, corals and vertebrates,&quot; Antara<br>\nnews agency quoted Maedar as saying.<\/p>\n<p>He said that his company would provide environmental tourism<br>\nin Tomia, offering visitors scuba diving and snorkeling as well<br>\nas traditional arts and cultures.<\/p>\n<p>The Swiss company has launched a series of overseas promotions<br>\nfor the marine reserve in Tomia and expects to see the first<br>\ntourist arrivals later this year.<\/p>\n<p>The business group has also set up a travel agent in Bau-Bau,<br>\nthe capital of Buton regency, in cooperation with two<br>\norganizations, the SAMA and YADI foundations.<\/p>\n<p>The SAMA foundation will guide the indigenous Bajoe people in<br>\nTomia in supporting the marine environment preservation program,<br>\nwhile the YADI foundation will provide supporting infrastructures<br>\nespecially for transportation.
