        "content": "<p>Suu Kyi defiant despite rumors<\/p>\n<p>YANGON (Reuters): Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi<br>\ntook a defiant stance amid rumors that Myanmar's ruling military<br>\ngovernment may deport her and dissolve her National League for<br>\nDemocracy (NLD) party early next month.<\/p>\n<p>An NLD statement on Friday quoted Suu Kyi as saying that she<br>\nhad no intention of leaving Myanmar and the military government<br>\nwould have problems finding a country to accept her as she held<br>\nonly Myanmar citizenship.<\/p>\n<p>Political analysts said rumors had circulated in Yangon this<br>\nweek that Suu Kyi might be deported on Jan. 3.<\/p>\n<p>Quasi-government organizations have in the past two months<br>\norganized anti-NLD rallies in which they called for Suu Kyi's<br>\ndeportation and the dissolution of her party. The state-owned<br>\nmedia have also made similar demands since mid-September.<\/p>",
