The Regent of Buleleng, I Nyoman Sutjidra, will continue the
redevelopment of Lovina Beach in Kalibukbuk Village next year. The
second phase of revitalisation will extend the pedestrian walkway
eastwards whilst adding various public facilities for tourists and the
local community.

Beyond extending the pedestrian walkway, open spaces, a children’s
playground, sports areas and an all-in-one snack centre (pujasera)
occupied by local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will also
be built. According to Sutjidra, the second phase of development will
complete the new face of Lovina Beach as an integrated tourist
destination.

“This is only the first phase. Next year there will be a second
phase. The pedestrian walkway will be extended eastwards, and the
landscaping will be arranged. There will be open spaces for children,
sports areas, places to relax, and there are also plans for a pujasera
for Lovina’s MSMEs,” said Sutjidra at a press conference for the Lovina
Festival 2026 on Wednesday (23/7/2026).

According to Sutjidra, the revitalisation of the Lovina Beach area
has begun to show a positive impact on the tourism sector. A number of
foreign tourists have even chosen to extend their stays after learning
about the Lovina Festival 2026.

“There are guests who were supposed to check out tomorrow, but
postponed by up to five days or even a week because they want to take
part in the Lovina Festival. This is something to be cheerful about. It
means Lovina is starting to attract attention,” said Sutjidra.

Sutjidra revealed that tourists’ response to the new look of Lovina
Beach has been very positive. Many foreign tourists who have visited
several times said they were astonished by the changes to the area,
which is now better organised and more comfortable.

It is not only foreign tourists who are arriving; domestic tourists
are also starting to come. According to Sutjidra, several coach groups
who initially only wanted to enjoy the sunset ultimately decided to stay
overnight at Lovina Beach and join the dolphin attractions.

“At first they only wanted to see the sunset, but they ended up
staying in Lovina, then enjoyed the dolphin attractions before heading
home. It means ground zero and Lovina are now becoming new magnets for
increasing visits,” explained Sutjidra.

Sutjidra is optimistic that the continued redevelopment through the
second phase will further drive economic growth for the community. In
addition to increasing tourist visits, the project is expected to lift
MSME incomes, hotel occupancy and hotel and restaurant tax (PHR)
revenues.

“Right now hotels are fully booked until 31 July, and even Pemuteran
is full. The impact is starting to be felt on PHR, with realisation
already exceeding the target,” said Sutjidra.
",
