Sutiyoso's open house celebration<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Governor Sutiyoso will be having an open house
\ncelebration at his official residence on Dec. 27, the first day
\nof Idul Fitri. All Jakartans are welcome, a staffer said on
\nTuesday.<\/p>\n
The annual celebration at the state-funded house on Jl. Taman
\nSuropati 7 in Central Jakarta would start at 10 a.m. after the
\ngovernor had performed his Idul Fitri prayers, and visited
\nPresident Abdurrahman Wahid and Vice President Megawati
\nSoekarnoputri at their respective residences.<\/p>\n
\"The celebration is open to everybody, so all Jakartans are
\nwelcome to come to the governor's house on Idul Fitri,\" the
\nstaffer at the governor's office said.<\/p>\n
It is a common practice for state officials to open their
\nhouses to people from all walks of life during such holidays.<\/p>\n
According to an announcement at City Hall, the governor will
\nattend Idul Fitri prayers at the City Hall compound which will be
\nled by Muhammadiyah chairman Syafi'i Maarif. (dja)<\/p>",
