Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso has threatened to close the garbage
\ndump site in Bantar Gebang, Bekasi if in the next four months the
\nBekasi municipality administration does not make a decision about
\nthis dump site. It is strange that Sutiyoso has made such a
\nthreat. In fact, the lease agreement on the use of this dump site
\nbetween the Jakarta administration and Bekasi municipality
\nadministration has already expired.<\/p>\n
Perhaps Sutiyoso must listen to the complaints of the
\nresidents living around the massive garbage dump. They have
\nsuffered a lot from the piles of garbage produced by Jakarta. It
\nis obvious that the garbage from Jakarta has been increasing in
\nquantity and has also polluted the environment of the area
\nsurrounding the dump.<\/p>\n
Sutiyoso only has the right to move the dump site to, for
\nexample, Jonggol and Cilincing -- both within the territory of
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
