Suspect's lawyer warns police<\/p>\n
PURWOKERTO, Central Java: Lawyer Arief Budi Cahyono warned
\npolice on Tuesday of "unwanted disturbances" in Purwokerto if a
\nsuspect in the case of a foiled land appropriation is not
\nreleased.<\/p>\n
Arief is representing Banyumas Council Speaker Tri Waluyo of
\nthe Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, who is currently
\nbeing questioned over his action to block an appropriation of
\nland by officials in a land dispute.<\/p>\n
Juman, a PDI Perjuangan task force member, is alleged to have
\nstruck a court official when the land was about to be seized.<\/p>\n
Responding to Arief's threat, district police chief Lt. Col.
\nImam Basuki retaliated by warning that the lawyer would be held
\ndirectly responsible if unrest broke out in the city. (08\/45)<\/p>",
