        "content": "<p>Suspected thieves mobbed to death<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Two suspected thieves were mobbed to death by<br>\nlocal residents after being caught committing crimes in West<br>\nJakarta and Depok, respectively, police said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>City police spokesman Lt. Col. Zainuri Lubis identified the<br>\nsuspected thieves as Indra Yuhelmi, 18, a student at private high<br>\nschool in Cipondoh, Tangerang, and Harsono, 28, an unemployed<br>\nresident of Bukit Cengkeh housing complex in Depok.<\/p>\n<p>Indra died of severe burns to his body after being set on fire<br>\nby residents of Rawa Buaya in West Jakarta. The residents saw<br>\nIndra and a number of his schoolmates attempting to remove the<br>\nside mirror of car parked in the residential area at about 9 p.m.<br>\non Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>While his schoolmates managed to flee, Indra was apprehended<br>\nby residents, who dragged the young man to a vacant field where<br>\nthey doused him with gasoline and set him on fire, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Indra also suffered severe head wounds from blunt objects,<br>\naccording to the police.<\/p>\n<p>\"We can't even imagine how the incident happened but our<br>\nofficers are still collecting evidence at the site,\" Lubis said.<\/p>\n<p>Separately in Depok at around 2 a.m. on Monday, Harsono and an<br>\nunidentified accomplice were mobbed by residents after being<br>\ncaught breaking into the house of one of Harsono's neighbor,<br>\nidentified as Dina Masdiana.<\/p>\n<p>The suspected burglars were caught after Dina, startled by the<br>\nintruders, screamed for help, Lubis said.<\/p>\n<p>Harsono died at the scene and was taken to Ciptomangunkusumo<br>\nGeneral Hospital for a postmortem examination. His accomplice<br>\nsuffered severe head wounds and is currently being treated at<br>\nSoekanto Police Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\"We'll process the mobbings because the residents also<br>\nviolated the law,\" Lubis said.<\/p>\n<p>No arrests have been made in either of the mobbings.(emf)<\/p>",
