Suspected highway robbers nabbed<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Police efforts to fight crime on the Cikampek
\ntoll road paid off on Monday when they identified three men
\nthought to belong to a notorious six-member gang in Cimahi, West
\nJava.<\/p>\n
Karawang chief of detectives Setya Widodo identified the three
\nmen only as Par, Riki and Roj, alias Ron, alias Bas.<\/p>\n
The police shoot at the robbers after they resisted arrest.
\nThe other three members are still at large.<\/p>\n
Widodo told Antara that Roj and his gang always wore military
\nor police uniforms to stop vehicles on the road. They also used
\ncell phones and fake military number plates on their vehicles.<\/p>\n
Robbery on the toll road had increased recently, according to
\nWidodo. Robbers usually target trucks transporting commercial
\ngoods.<\/p>\n
Widodo said Roj had confessed to committing five robberies on
\nthe road, with the last one occurring several days ago when he
\nand his gang robbed a truck transporting 3,200 packaged
\nbeverages.<\/p>",
