        "content": "<p>Suspect shot dead for attacking police<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): A team of city police mobile detectives unit<br>\nshot dead a suspect on Saturday when the latter attacked a<br>\npoliceman with a machete.<\/p>\n<p>First Insp. Supriyadi, the team leader, said that the victim,<br>\nidentified as Entong alias Otong, was a suspect in a violent car<br>\nrobbery on Jl. Nias Raya in Kelapa Gading housing complex, North<br>\nJakarta, in July 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Supriyadi said that when police officers approached Otong, he<br>\nattacked a policeman with a machete. \"Police warned him and<br>\nordered him to put down his weapon, but he ignored the order,\"<br>\nSupriyadi said.<\/p>\n<p>Otong fell to the ground after one of the officers shot him in<br>\nthe chest and leg.
