Suspect in Beng Seng murder freed<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The City Police have released another man who
\nhad earlier been suspected of having a significant role in the
\n1994 killing of an entertainment businessman, Darmansyah Sujadi
\nalias Nyo Beng Seng.<\/p>\n
A senior police officer, who requested anonymity, confirmed
\nthe release of Eng San, who had been in police custody for more
\nthan 50 days.<\/p>\n
"He was released on Friday, as we could not find any evidence
\nfor his role in the murder," the officer said yesterday.<\/p>\n
"Moreover, the dossiers about the case that we completed were
\nreturned by the prosecutors' office due to lack of material
\nevidence," he said.<\/p>\n
However Eng San's lawyer has given his guarantee that his
\nclient will appear at the police office if he is requested to do
\nso, the officer said.<\/p>\n
Eng San and another man identified as Apiu, were nabbed last
\nDec.15. Apiu is still under police detention.<\/p>\n
Two other suspects were arrested in December but also released
\ndue to lack of evidence.<\/p>\n
Two other men, Agiono and Atok, were sentenced to 20 and 15
\nyears respectively for stabbing Beng Seng, who was also known as
\na contact person for Indonesians who wanted to go gambling
