        "content": "<p>Susilo's exit made official<\/p>\n<p>Fabiola Desy Unidjaja, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>President Megawati Soekarnoputri signed on Friday the decree<br>\nmaking official the departure of Coordinating Minister for<br>\nPolitical and Security Affairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono from the<br>\nCabinet, ending their weeks-long rift.<\/p>\n<p>State Secretary Bambang Kesowo, upon announcing the issuance<br>\nof Decree No. 36\/M\/2004, said the President had appointed<br>\nMinister of Home Affairs Hari Sabarno as the interim senior<br>\nsecurity minister.<\/p>\n<p>Bambang said the President \"understands and appreciates\"<br>\nSusilo's resignation and thanked him for his contributions to her<br>\ngovernment.<\/p>\n<p>\"Along with the decree on his dismissal, the President<br>\nwrote a personal letter thanking Pak Yudhoyono for his hard work<br>\nduring his term,\" Bambang said.<\/p>\n<p>Another part of Megawati's letter that Bambang failed to<br>\nmention hints at her former minister's political ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>\"I understand that Bapak Susilo's political career still has a<br>\nlong way to go,\" the letter reads.<\/p>\n<p>Susilo, who was also dismissed from the Cabinet in 2001 by his<br>\nprevious boss, former president Abdurrahman Wahid, is begin<br>\ntipped as the main opposition to Megawati in the country's first<br>\never direct presidential election on July 5.<\/p>\n<p>Bambang said the President had appointed Hari interim security<br>\nminister because of his competence and knowledge of political and<br>\nsecurity affairs.<\/p>\n<p>\"He is the most serious official among the ministers dealing<br>\nwith political and security affairs. Based on this assessment,<br>\nthe President believes he is capable of taking up the post,\"<br>\nBambang said.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy State Secretary Erman Radjagukguk said Susilo was<br>\npleased to hear Megawati's response to his resignation.<\/p>\n<p>\"That is great,\" Susilo was quoted by Erman as saying.<\/p>",
