        "content": "<p>Susilo set fir UN summit<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>A hectic schedule awaits President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono<br>\nduring his week-long visit to the U.S., where he will hold 40<br>\nmeetings including meetings with several world leaders and top<br>\nbusiness executives.<\/p>\n<p>Susilo and his entourage left Jakarta for New York late on<br>\nSaturday night in his second official visit to the U.S. in the<br>\nlast three months that will end on Sept. 17.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of his trip will be his speech at the 2005<br>\nUnited Nations Summit at the UN headquarters on Sept. 16, where<br>\nSusilo is expected to deliver a speech on Indonesia's position on<br>\nUN reform.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the UN Summit, the President will attend the second<br>\nleaders summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations<br>\n(ASEAN) in New York.<\/p>\n<p>On the sidelines of the summits, Susilo, who turned 56 on<br>\nFriday, is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with a number of<br>\nworld leaders, such as Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas,<br>\nAustralian Prime Minister John Howard, Dutch Prime Minister Jan<br>\nPeter Balkenende, Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Sinawatra, British<br>\nPrime Minister Tony Blair, Iranian President Mahmood Ahmadinejad,<br>\nArgentinian President Nestor Carlos Kirchner, Malaysian Prime<br>\nMinister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and South African President Thabo<br>\nMbeki.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Foreign Affairs Hassan Wirajuda said earlier that<br>\nthe presidential office had to turn down invitations from other<br>\nworld leaders, who wished to hold bilateral meetings with Susilo.<\/p>\n<p>\"There is just not enough time,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Hassan said that the President was not scheduled to hold a<br>\nbilateral talk with U.S. President George Bush as they had met<br>\nduring Susilo's official trip to the country late in May.<\/p>\n<p>Hassan and Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi are among the high<br>\nranking government officials joining the trip.<\/p>\n<p>However, Susilo will receive a courtesy call from the U.S.<br>\nSecretary of State Condoleezza Rice.<\/p>\n<p>Susilo, who holds a doctorate in economics from the Bogor<br>\nInstitute of Agriculture, will receive an honorary doctorate in<br>\nlaw from Webster University. He is slated to deliver a lecture at<br>\nWebster University and at Columbia University.<\/p>\n<p>Susilo, a retired army general, will also fly to Kansas for an<br>\nevent at the Army College at Fort Leavenworth. The alumni of the<br>\ncollege is slated to receive an honorary certificate and an<br>\nhonorary alumnus certificate from the Army College.<\/p>\n<p>The President is also scheduled to visit the New York Stock<br>\nExchange and address a seminar organized by the Indonesian Global<br>\nInvestment Forum.<\/p>\n<p>American entrepreneurs, namely Kamie Dimon, president and CEO<br>\nof JP Morgan Chase, chairman and CEO of General Electric Jeffrey<br>\nR. Immelt, Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone and Texas Pacific<br>\nGroup founder and head of David Bonderman will have one-on-one<br>\nmeetings with Susilo.<\/p>",
