Susilo leads visit to Maluku<\/p>\n
AMBON, Maluku: Coordinating Minister for Political, Social and
\nSecurity Affairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on Tuesday the
\ngovernment had proposed a three-step program which would include
\nlaw enforcement, rehabilitation and reconciliation to end the
\nsectarian conflict in Maluku and North Maluku.<\/p>\n
Speaking after attending a 90 minute meeting with local civil
\nemergency leaders, Susilo said Jakarta would send judges,
\nprosecutors and security reinforcements to uphold the law.<\/p>\n
To rehabilitate the area, Susilo pledged the government would
\nhelp support projects to rebuild health, education and public
\nfacilities.<\/p>\n
On reconciliation, he said, efforts would be focused on
\nreestablishing social interaction between the warring
\ncommunities in an effort to rebuild social harmony and
\nbrotherhood.<\/p>\n
\"The government will also focus on providing better care for
\nrefugees, including building better shelters and education and
\nhealth facilities,\" he said after heading the visit by a
\nministerial delegation, which included Minister of Defense Mahfud
\nM.D., Minister of Settlement and Regional Infrastructure Erna
\nWitoelar, Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Alhilal Hamdi,
\nIndonesian Military Commander Adm. Widodo AS and Junior Minister
\nof the Acceleration of Development in Eastern Indonesia Manuel
