Susilo-Kalla the only pair to complete registration<\/p>\n

Only one of the six pairings of presidential and vice
\npresidential candidates has submitted to the General
\nElections Commissions (KPU) all documents required to contest
\nthe July 5 election.<\/p>\n
The KPU announced on Friday that only the pairing of Susilo
\nBambang Yudhoyono and Jusuf Kalla had handed over complete
\ndocuments to the commission.<\/p>\n
The other five lacked a number of required documents, ranging
\nfrom tax-arrears and debt-free letters, recommendations from the
\nCorruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and letters of good
\nconduct, to colored photographs.<\/p>\n
The pairings -- Megawati Soekarnoputri-Hasyim Muzadi, Wiranto-
\nSolahuddin Wahid, Amien Rais-Siswono Yudohusodo, Hamzah Haz-Agum
\nGumelar and Abdurrahman \"Gus Dur\" Wahid-Marwah Daud Ibrahim --
\nhave one week to complete their documents.<\/p>\n
Susilo and Kalla are nominated by the Democratic Party,
\nMegawati and Hasyim by the Indonesian Democratic Party of
\nStruggle (PDI-P), Wiranto and Solahuddin by Golkar Party, Amien
\nand Siswono by the National Mandate Party (PAN), Hamzah and Agum
\nby the United Development Party (PPP) and Gus Dur and Marwah by
\nthe National Awakening Party (PKB).<\/p>\n
KPU member Anas Urbaningrum said the Susilo-Kalla pairing
\ncould soon be declared fit to contest the presidential election.<\/p>\n
\"However, the official result will be made public on May 22,\"
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
Anas declined to give more information on the results of
\nhealth examinations of the candidates.<\/p>\n
\"The results from a team of doctors from the Gatot Subroto
\nArmy hospital have been given to the political parties concerned,
\nit is up to the parties to make an announcement,\" Anas said.<\/p>\n
Alwi Shihab, the leader of the PKB, who has nominated visually
\nimpaired cleric Gus Dur as the party's presidential candidate,
\ndeclined to announce the result of Gus Dur's medical examination.<\/p>\n
\"We still have to hold a meeting tonight to discuss the
\nresult, maybe tomorrow we will talk to the press about it,\" he
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Gus Dur -- who was removed from the presidential post in June
\n2001 for incompetence -- had boasted that millions of his
\nsupporters would choose abstention should the KPU disqualify him.<\/p>\n
Excluding the health examination result, according to the KPU,
\nGus Dur fell short of submitting six documents, including a
\n\"tax-arrears-free\" letter, copies of his diploma, and a letter
\nfrom the KPK.<\/p>\n
Gus Dur's running mate Marwah Daud also seems to lack the
\nnecessary documents. She still has to submit a total of 11
\ndocuments, including a letter of citizenship, voter's card,
\nsolvency letter, and \"tax-arrears-free\" letter.<\/p>\n
Wiranto is yet to produce a letter of good conduct,
\n\"tax-arrears-free\" letter and colored photographs.<\/p>\n
All candidates have until May 21 to submit the documents. The
\ncommission will announce eligible candidates on May 22.<\/p>\n
Also on Friday, the KPU decided that the logistics procurement
\nfor the presidential election would be handled by KPU members and
\nnot by the secretary-general's office.<\/p>\n
\"Some (KPU) members still insist on taking care of the
\nprocurement of logistics. We will not go through tenders, but
\ndirectly appoint contractors to save time,\" KPU deputy chairman
\nRamlan Surbakti said.<\/p>\n
Over 150 million voters are expected to cast their votes in
\nthe July 5 polls, with a likely runoff scheduled for Sept. 20.<\/p>",
