A major Pew Research Center survey across 36 countries reveals that international sentiment towards Israel has deteriorated significantly, with 67 percent of adults holding an unfavourable view. Hostility is particularly pronounced in Muslim-majority nations, including Indonesia, and has also surged across Europe and other regions. The findings indicate that Israel's global image, already damaged by the war in Gaza, has worsened further following its military campaign against Iran.

A major survey conducted by the Pew Research Center has found that
Israel’s standing in the world continues to plummet, with majorities in
36 surveyed countries viewing the nation unfavourably. The survey,
carried out between 8 February and 13 May, found that an average of 67
per cent of adults in the countries polled held an unfavourable view of
Israel, compared to just 25 per cent with a favourable view. Pew stated
that most interviews were conducted after the US and Israel launched a
war against Iran on 28 February, a campaign that has triggered global
economic hardship. Hostility towards Israel was especially pronounced in
Muslim-majority countries included in the survey, including Bangladesh,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey, as well as the occupied West
Bank and East Jerusalem. Pew said it was unable to conduct polling in
Gaza. European publics were no less hostile. In Italy, the Netherlands
and Spain, roughly two-thirds of adults or more said they have a very
unfavourable view of Israel. The findings show that Israel’s
international image, already battered by the genocide in Gaza, has
deteriorated further since the war against Iran. Pew said unfavourable
views increased in 13 of the 24 countries where trend data is available.
In Argentina, for instance, 46 per cent of adults held an unfavourable
view of Israel in 2025. That figure has now risen to 55 per cent. The
share of people with a very unfavourable view also rose by double digits
in Australia, Italy, Nigeria, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
",
