        "content": "<p>Solusi Sinergi Digital Plc (WIFI), also known as Surge, through its\nsubsidiary Telemedia Komunikasi Pratama (Telemedia), has launched\nPeople\u2019s Internet (IRA) simultaneously across Region 1, covering Java,\nMaluku, and Papua.<\/p>\n<p>The IRA launch is a strategy to accelerate national digital access\nequality through efficient, scalable, and affordable telecommunications\ninfrastructure for Indonesian citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis (People\u2019s Internet) is one of the drivers of Indonesia\u2019s\neconomic growth, so I am confident and optimistic we can achieve 8\npercent in a short time, with infrastructure such as affordable\ninternet, People\u2019s Internet, which we are launching today,\u201d said Surge\nBoard of Stakeholders Hashim Djojohadikusumo at the Region 1 launch in\nJakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, according to Antara.<\/p>\n<p>The IRA launch aligns with Surge\u2019s vision to support national digital\ntransformation while narrowing the fixed broadband access gap across\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Through People\u2019s Internet, Surge and Telemedia are offering\nhigh-speed fixed broadband internet up to 100 Mbps at an affordable\nprice of Rp 100,000, expanding public access to education, the digital\neconomy, public services, entertainment, and new opportunities in the\ndigital era.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the launch of People\u2019s Internet in Java, Maluku, and Papua, we\naim to bridge the digital divide and open more opportunities for\ncommunities to participate in the digital economy,\u201d said Shannedy Ong,\nPresident Director of Telemedia Komunikasi Pratama and Director of\nWIFI.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Region 1 implementation, People\u2019s Internet\u2019s\ninfrastructure currently supports over 550 active sites as of 26 May\n2026, and 3,189 radio units installed and operational across more than\n82 cities and regencies in Java, Maluku, and Papua.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Grand Launch event, Telemedia introduced a special\npromotional programme in collaboration with TVRI and digital platform\nFolaPlay, combining high-speed fixed broadband access with World Cup\nviewing experiences for Indonesian citizens.<\/p>",
