        "content": "<p>Bank Saqu has launched an educational campaign titled \u2018Beware of\nCyber Ghosts\u2019 to remind customers to remain vigilant against various\nforms of digital fraud ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.<\/p>\n<p>During this period, public digital transaction activity typically\nincreases significantly. Cybercriminals frequently exploit this momentum\nto perpetrate various fraud schemes, including false messages about\npackage deliveries, shopping promotions, and impersonations of\nrepresentatives from financial institutions requesting personal data or\none-time passwords (OTP).<\/p>\n<p>Angela Lew Dermawan, Chief Digital &amp; Retail Business Officer at\nBank Saqu, stated that the \u2018Beware of Cyber Ghosts\u2019 initiative is part\nof the bank\u2019s ongoing effort to support customers in conducting secure\ntransactions in the digital era.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn today\u2019s digital world, cyber threats often arrive undetected and\nare not always clearly visible, but their impact can be very real for\nthe public,\u201d Angela said on Saturday, 14 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Data from the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) shows that\nIndonesia experiences hundreds of millions of cyber traffic anomalies\nannually, with the potential to lead to various digital attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a report from the Financial Services Authority (OJK)\nindicates that public losses from digital fraud, including social\nengineering and OTP misuse, were estimated to exceed 2.5 trillion rupiah\nin 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Industry reports also noted that between November 2024 and September\n2025, there were over 274,000 reports of financial fraud in Indonesia,\nwith estimated public losses exceeding 6 trillion rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Angela emphasised that the bank simply wants to remind\ncustomers to remain vigilant against various fraud tactics, particularly\nduring special occasions such as Eid al-Fitr.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough \u2018Beware of Cyber Ghosts\u2019, Bank Saqu hopes the public will\nbetter understand how to protect themselves and safeguard their personal\ndata when conducting transactions,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Angela added that the \u2018Beware of Cyber Ghosts\u2019 campaign employs a\ncreative communication approach through the personification of the\n\u201cCyber Ghost\u201d, which illustrates the various digital threats that\nfrequently threaten public financial activity in the digital world.<\/p>\n<p>Through a light and easily understood storytelling approach, Bank\nSaqu aims to help the public recognise various fraud tactics whilst\nunderstanding simple steps to protect themselves.<\/p>",
