        "content": "<p>The Surabaya Class I Special Immigration Office has deported and\nblacklisted eight foreign nationals from the People\u2019s Republic of China.\nThe eight were proven to have misused their residence permits by working\nillegally on a restaurant renovation project in the Pakuwon Mall area,\nSurabaya. Head of the Surabaya Class I Special Immigration Office, Agus\nWinarto, revealed that the violation was uncovered when the Immigration\nIntelligence and Enforcement Team conducted a field surveillance\noperation on 4 June 2026. The deportation process was carried out on\nMonday (22\/6) via Juanda International Airport to their home country.\n\u201cAt the location, officers found eight foreign nationals carrying out\ntechnical activities ranging from electrical installation, piping,\nconstruction, installation of air ventilation systems (ducting), to\nproject supervision,\u201d Agus said in a written statement on Wednesday\n(24\/6). Based on the results of immigration and employment document\nchecks, officers found three types of residence permit violation methods\ncommitted by the eight foreign nationals. For these actions, all the\nforeign nationals were declared to have violated Article 122 letter a of\nLaw Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. They were proven to have\ncarried out activities not in accordance with the purpose and objectives\nof the residence permit granted, and were therefore subject to\nImmigration Administrative Actions in the form of deportation and\nblacklisting. Agus stressed that although Indonesia is very open to\ninvestment and foreign workers for national development, compliance with\nthe law remains non-negotiable. \u201cEvery foreign national must use their\nresidence permit in accordance with the activities carried out, work\naccording to their position, and at the company that is their guarantor.\nWe will take firm action against any form of misuse,\u201d said Agus. This\nfirm step is in line with the direction of the Director General of\nImmigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, who emphasises professional and\naccountable immigration law enforcement through the spirit of\n\u2018Immigration for the People\u2019 to safeguard state sovereignty and create a\nhealthy investment climate with legal order.<\/p>",
