PT Uluu Solusi Indonesia continues to intensify efforts to expand its\ncooperation with seaweed farmers, suppliers, and other partners across\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
President Director of Uluu Solusi Indonesia, Dian Kurniawati, said\nthat as the world\u2019s second-largest seaweed producer, Indonesia has an\nimportant role in Uluu\u2019s mission to replace fossil-based plastics with\nmaterials made from seaweed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough Uluu Indonesia, we want to build strong local partnerships\nand ensure that traceability, responsible farming practices, and\nbenefits for seaweed farming communities are part of our supply chain\nfrom the outset,\u201d said Dian in a statement on Sunday, 6 September\n2026.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Uluu, Dr Julia Reisser, said that\nthe establishment of Uluu Indonesia is an important step in the\ncompany\u2019s growth. According to her, seaweed is the base material used by\nthe company, so how the seaweed is cultivated and where it is farmed is\nalso very important.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith a team in Indonesia, we can work directly with local partners\nand farmers as our business grows. We are excited to see what we can\nbuild together,\u201d said Julia.<\/p>\n
Uluu has completed its first shipment of fully traceable seaweed from\nCV. Persada Semesta in South Sulawesi. Together with Koltiva,\ninformation about the origin and movement of the seaweed is recorded\ndigitally, from the farmer level through to processing and shipping.<\/p>\n
General Manager of CV. Persada Semesta, Indra Santoso, said that this\npilot project increases Uluu\u2019s visibility over its supply chain, while\nproviding a system that can be continuously refined and expanded as\nproduction increases.<\/p>\n
Indra also acknowledged that the traceability aspect has helped his\ncompany understand and improve each stage of the supply chain, from\nfarmers to final delivery.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are proud to work with Uluu and Koltiva on this pilot project,\nand hope to expand it to continue providing added value for our farming\ncommunities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
