Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Universitas Syeikh Nawawi Banten (USNB)\nheld the 2nd Bachelor\u2019s Graduation Open Senate Session for the 2025-2026\nAcademic Year, attended by the 13th Vice President of the Republic of\nIndonesia, Prof.\u00a0Dr.\u00a0(H.C.) K.H. Ma\u2019ruf Amin, on 25 April 2026. This\nevent served as a strategic moment to affirm USNB\u2019s commitment as a\ncivilisation-based campus that integrates heritage, research, and modern\nscience.<\/p>\n
During the occasion, K.H. Ma\u2019ruf Amin expressed appreciation for\nUSNB\u2019s development, which he deemed consistent in advancing education\nbased on Islamic values and modern knowledge. He emphasised the\nimportance of integrating scientific knowledge and morals amid rapid\ntechnological advancements.<\/p>\n
\u201cHigher education institutions must be capable of producing a\ngeneration that is not only intellectually intelligent but also morally\nstrong and able to make real contributions to the community and the\nnation,\u201d stated K.H. Ma\u2019ruf Amin.<\/p>\n
In line with this, USNB affirmed its two main missions: to produce\nal-mutafaqqihina fiddin (religious scholars) capable of guiding society\non the right path, and al-mu\u2019ammirina al-ardha (experts in science and\ntechnology) tasked with prospering the earth. The concept of prospering\nthe earth refers to the teaching that humans are created from the earth\nand given the responsibility to preserve it, not destroy it, and to add\nvalue for the goodness of life.<\/p>\n
USNB interprets \u201cimaratul ardh\u201d as efforts to preserve existing\ngoodness, avoid damage, and introduce added value for welfare. Thus,\nknowledge is not merely a tool of understanding but also a means to\nbuild an ethical and sustainable civilisation.<\/p>\n
K.H. Ma\u2019ruf Amin also supported USNB\u2019s approach in promoting a\ncivilisation campus concept that combines heritage and modern science as\na response to contemporary challenges.<\/p>\n
At this graduation moment, USNB announced a strategic step by opening\nnew study programmes under the Faculty of Science and Technology, namely\nInformatics and Artificial Intelligence. Both programmes have obtained\noperational permits from LLDIKTI of the Ministry of Higher Education,\nScience, and Technology.<\/p>\n
The Rector of Universitas Syeikh Nawawi Banten, Hj. Siti\nHaniatunnisa, emphasised that the opening of these programmes is part of\nthe campus\u2019s grand vision to prepare outstanding generations in\ntechnology while grounded in Islamic values.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis step is not merely academic development but part of our great\nendeavour to build future generations who master technology while\npossessing depth in values and ethics,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
Previously, USNB has also established collaborations with several\ninstitutions, including Institut Teknologi Bandung, as well as\ninternational partners such as Chongqing University of Posts and\nTelecommunications and Southwest University through double degree\nprogrammes. Collaborations are also conducted with Universitas Islam\nInternasional Indonesia to support campus internationalisation.<\/p>\n
